A True College Experience!
Thank you for your interest in Housing & Residence Life at Western Iowa Tech Community College! There is no better way to feel connected to the college and get involved than living on campus. We’re positive that your experience in Student Housing will be an enjoyable and educational one. With both housing options being just a short walk to classes, Housing at WITCC is also convenient and affordable. Sun Ridge Court provides apartment style living, while the Bur Oak Suites offer a different experience. In Sun Ridge Court, one and two bedroom apartment units are available; a one bedroom houses two students while a two bedroom houses four students, the common areas are shared. The Bur Oak Suites are four bedroom two bath suites; each student has their own room and shares the common areas with their roommates. We invite you to be a part of our great and ever-growing campus community!
How Do I Apply?
It is recommended that you apply for Housing at least one semester prior to when you will be enrolled for classes at WITCC. Students often send their Housing Application in shortly after applying for admission. Rooms are assigned based on the date the application is received, so the sooner the better! For your convenience, you can find Housing Applications in several places; you can pick up an application in the Student Housing Office, the Enrollment Services Office, or you can access it online and print it off yourself. Once you have filled it out, please return it to the address provided on the application along with your $20 non-refundable application fee.
Please note: While every effort is made to accommodate your preferences, you are simply applying for a space in Student Housing and may not get your first choice.
Not Just a Place to Live…
The Housing & Residence Life Department at WITCC believes living on campus can be a great experience; not only because housing is close to main campus, but several leadership opportunities and activities are available to students living there. Students living on campus form a community to call their own in which friendships are built that can last a lifetime. You’ll experience college life as it is meant to be!
Resident Assistants
The role of the Resident Assistant (RA) is to provide assistance, advice, and direction to the student residents who live on campus, while also being a positive leader and role model in the housing community. They plan several great activities throughout the year that provide a great outlet and social connection to others living in housing. RAs also enforce college policy and help to mediate roommate issues if they arise. Resident Assistants are hired in the spring semester every year and start the following fall. They are required to live on campus, but are provided with their own room at a reduced rate and also a monthly stipend. This is a great leadership opportunity and resume builder!
Housing Supervisor
The Housing Supervisor is a full-time employee at the College, but also lives right on campus. The role of the Housing Supervisor is to oversee the daily operations of the department while also supervising the Resident Assistants with their efforts. They are a reference for students who have questions about their student bill, general concerns, and issues they may be having.
