The AHA's BLS Course has been updated to include science and education from the guidelines update for CPR and ECC. We will teach you both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

The initial course is designed for individuals who want to teach American Heart Association BLS Provider and Heartsaver courses.
The renewal course is designed for individuals who want to continue teaching American Heart Association BLS or Heartsaver courses.

Nursing Assistant I (classroom and theory) and II (clinical) are co-requisite course requirements. Concurrent successful completion of these two courses, HSC-173 (three semester hours of college credit) and HSC-174 (one semester hour of college credit), meets the requirements for the 76-hour nurse aide training and students will receive four semester hours of college credit and are eligible to take the nurse aide competency exams upon completion.
